Connect a new number, separate from your WhatsApp

Until now, connecting through Meta meant using the same number as your WhatsApp Business. That still works, and it is still the better choice if you already work in it. But not everyone wants to mix the two.

There is now a third way to connect: Meta Cloud, with a new number just for here. The WhatsApp you use day to day stays untouched. The connection is Meta's official one, the steadiest we have.

You need a number that isn't on WhatsApp yet, regular or Business. If it is, delete that account first. Meta sends a code by SMS or by call to confirm the number is yours.

You don't have to pick the right card. If you use a number that's already on WhatsApp Business in Meta's window, it connects as coexistence; a number without WhatsApp connects as Meta Cloud. Either way, we tell you right away.

Two things this number does not do. It has no contact list, so names show up as people write in. And it doesn't transcribe the audio you send yourself, only what comes in.
